EWWR Action: Waste Reduction, Reuse & Repurposing Week

For this year’s European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), we are planning a full week of activities aimed at engaging our team members and guests in waste prevention, reuse and repurposing.

The initiative will encourage everyone to rethink how everyday items and materials are used, with a particular focus on preventing waste from being generated in the first place and giving items a second life.

The activities will include:

• Food Waste Repurposing Information Session – Our Kitchen team will deliver an information session for team members, sharing practical ideas and examples of how food can be creatively repurposed and how food waste can be reduced in daily operations.

• Reusable Items Project – Team members will be encouraged to bring in everyday items that would otherwise be discarded and creatively reuse or repurpose them. The most innovative and impactful contribution will be selected as the winner, with a gift awarded to the winning team member.

• Reusable Items Collection – In collaboration with WasteServ, we will collect suitable reusable items brought in by team members, helping to ensure that these items are given a second life rather than becoming waste.

• Beekeeper Reuse/Recycle Campaign – We will actively promote the Reuse/Recycle page on Beekeeper, encouraging team members to share and exchange items that are no longer needed. Our target is to achieve 30 items posted during the EWWR week.

• Guest Engagement – Our waste prevention, reuse and recycling initiatives will be showcased on the hotel’s lobby information screens, helping to raise awareness among guests and encouraging them to adopt more sustainable waste practices during their stay.

Through this week of activities, we aim to engage our team members, involve our guests and demonstrate that small actions can make a significant difference in preventing waste and extending the useful life of everyday items.
