Where does the food go? Our school digestive system

Throughout the school week, we are exploring the origins of the food on our tables and where it goes. As a “Green School,” much of our fresh, local produce comes from our own school garden—including cucumbers, garlic, dill, pumpkins, and more. Since students may not be aware of these origins or the destination of food waste, we are dedicating the entire week to this topic. Teachers are also integrating themes related to food and food waste into various subjects. As Oru Basic School is part of the Eco-Schools network (https://www.ecoschools.global/), we are especially pleased to participate in this program and broaden the horizons of our school community.
