Waste Less, Do More: Raising Awareness Through Social Media
INFO [what will be done]
Description:
Żgħażagħ għal Bidla is an independent youth group based in Mosta, welcoming young people aged between 13 to 30. As part of the group’s ongoing efforts to encourage youth participation and keep its social media platforms active, its younger members have developed a series of creative content ideas focused on waste management and environmental awareness.
To mark the European Week for Waste Reduction, the group plans to publish a series of educational and awareness-raising videos and social media posts throughout the week. The content will aim to provide practical information on responsible waste disposal while encouraging individuals to adopt more sustainable habits in their everyday lives.
The planned content includes videos explaining how to sort waste correctly, promoting the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, and showcasing ways to give clothes a new purpose rather than throwing them away. Additional graphics and posts may also be developed to address other relevant waste management topics throughout the week.
Through this youth-led digital initiative, Żgħażagħ għal Bidla aims to use social media as an accessible and engaging tool for environmental education. The action will empower young people to take an active role in raising awareness within their community, while encouraging followers to rethink their consumption habits, reduce waste and make more responsible choices for the environment.
