Plant Today, Sustain Tomorrow: A Community Planting Initiative

INFO [what will be done]

Description:

Plant Today, Sustain Tomorrow aims to promote environmental awareness and sustainable living through a practical, community-based planting activity. This initaitive is being put up by Regjun Lvant, Gharghur Local Council and FSWS Mosta Community Services.

Inspired by feedback received from the year 3/4 students during the FES summer school with the Gharghur Primary School, who expressed a desire to see more plants around the locality.

This activity will combine planting of native trees (sponsored by Project Green) and a short, interactive workshop on how to save and replant seeds from suitable fruit and vegetables. Participants will learn how everyday food items can provide an opportunity to grow new plants, helping to reduce unnecessary waste and encouraging more sustainable practices at home.

Through this hands-on experience, the action aims to raise awareness of waste prevention, resource conservation and the importance of greener public spaces. It will encourage participants to adopt small but meaningful environemental habits and demonstarte how individual actions can contribute to a more sustianable community.
