Description:
Green Commitment Conference 2026 – Biowaste: From Separate Collection to Recovery
The Municipality of Estarreja is organising the 2026 Green Commitment Conference on 24 November at Estarreja Municipal Library, focusing on biowaste management and the challenges of transitioning towards a circular economy.
The conference will bring together experts and practitioners to discuss national targets, practical experiences in separate biowaste collection and recovery, and the future of waste management, including the limitations of landfill and alternative solutions for residual waste. The programme will also include practical activities on home composting and a dedicated session for the HORECA sector, exploring solutions for the effective separation and collection of food waste.
Aligned with the European Week for Waste Reduction, the event aims to promote waste prevention, resource recovery and the sharing of practical solutions among municipalities, businesses and citizens.
