Briefly introduce yourself<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Hi. I\u2019m Daniel, a 38-year-old environmental engineer from Porto, in the north of Portugal. I\u2019ve been working in the waste sector for over a decade and I currently head the environmental monitoring department at Ambisousa, the waste management company responsible for the Sousa Valley. I am also the technical manager of selective waste collection at the company.<\/p>\n

Daniel Lamas is the EWWR Coordinator for the Sousa Valley in Portugal<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the story behind your participation in the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR)? <\/strong><\/p>\n

It began with an interest in preventing waste production and implementing a home composting project in Ambisousa.<\/p>\n

That prompted us to want to learn about other projects and contexts in Europe so that we can evaluate their implementation in the municipalities of Ambisousa.<\/p>\n

What do you like about being an EWWR coordinator?<\/p>\n

I like the ability to learn from other places and to realise that, sometimes, small actions can have a very big impact.<\/p>\n
