Rain Share is a circular urban sharing concept that questions the need to own products that are only needed temporarily.

The idea was inspired by an experience in Stockholm, where unexpected rain created an immediate need for rain protection while short-lived rain products were difficult or expensive to find. Around a large urban running event, the contrast was striking: some people needed protection for a few hours, while others were left with products whose useful purpose had already ended.

Rain Share proposes a different model:

Instead of buying rain protection for a temporary need, people could access reusable items from one point in the city, use them for as long as needed and return them at the same or another Rain Share point. Returned items would be checked, cleaned, dried and repaired when necessary before being made available for reuse.

During EWWR 2026, an online interactive awareness experience will take visitors through the story behind Rain Share, the problem of short-term consumption and the proposed sharing model. Through visual content and simple questions, visitors will be invited to reflect on how they respond to temporary needs, explore the difference between ownership and access, and imagine how a city-wide sharing system could work.

Visitors will also be invited to share their response to the concept through a few simple questions, providing an indication of their willingness to choose access and reuse over temporary ownership.

The experience will conclude with one question:

Do you really need to own this?

What do circular cities need to really make an impact? Which ideas get us out of the discussion loop and into action? And how do big VISIONS turn into real commitment?

That's exactly what the first international re-VISION: Circular Cities Conference 2026 in Berlin is about, hosted by the Zero-Waste Agency.

For one day, people from politics, administration, municipalities, business, science, and civil society will come together to work on the circular city of tomorrow.

Expect fresh ideas, innovative participation formats, strong practical examples, exciting workshops, and plenty of space for networking, new contacts, and inspiring conversations.

The program includes, among other things:

+ Inspiration from Prof. Dr. Maja Göpel + Proof-of-Concept: Best practices from various municipalities and cities in the re-PANEL

+ Knowledge transfer and developing solutions together: in the re-LABS

+ lots of space for exchange and networking

In the afternoon, it gets concrete: In the re-LABS, we work together on current project challenges, share insights from your cases, and develop them further together. At the end, we create a powerful closing moment that not only motivates but also sets a visible sign: for real commitment and next steps that start right after the conference.

From November 2 to 29, 2026, Berlin will show what it has to offer in terms of circular economy, waste reduction, and zero waste. Numerous initiatives, companies, institutions, and actors active in resource conservation are offering a wide range of hands-on and educational activities, as well as cultural events, exhibitions, and professional events. Everyone is invited to experience resource conservation and get to know places and initiatives that provide opportunities for repair, upcycling, sharing & borrowing, and more.

Waste Less Malta – Small Actions, Big Change is a community initiative aimed at encouraging people to reduce waste and give unwanted items a second life.

The action will focus on rethinking consumption, reducing waste, reusing and repurposing, with particular attention to clothing, footwear, books, toys and reusable household items.

Participants will be encouraged to bring clean and usable items they no longer need and swap, exchange or donate them instead of throwing them away. The initiative will also raise awareness about simple everyday choices, such as avoiding unnecessary purchases and packaging, choosing reusable products, repairing items where possible and recycling correctly.

The aim is to demonstrate that small individual actions can collectively make a big difference, helping to reduce waste, conserve resources and promote a more sustainable and circular way of living in Malta.
