WHAT will be done

Description:

Utility Company Čistoća Rijeka will mark this year’s theme for European week waste reduction in Riperaj during the five day festival – New time for old stuff vol.3. Trough series of educational workshops – reuse of waste packaging and creating of reusable bags, preeschool art exhibition and encouraging  the use of  BERT – packaging-free device with donation of reusable textile bags for users, participants will be encouraged to think about changing the way they buy, use and reuse packaging material.

Festival program:

  • 20.11.- DIY wallets from multi-layer packaging workshop
  • 21.11. – DIY reusable bags for fruit and vegetables workshop
  • 23.11. – DIY beeswax wrap for food workshop
  • 20.11.-24.11. – preeschool art exhibition
  • 20.11.-24.11.- donation of reusable textile bag for every user of BERT – packaging-free device                                                                                                                                                                                                  Bert is self-service machine in Riperaj for selling products without packaging. In BERT visitors can buy local organic food and other eco friendly products (olive and pumpkin oil, wine vinegar, white and apple cider vinegar, eco-friendly detergents and soaps…) at affordable prices with their own packaging to purchase. Basic idea is to motivate citizens to reduce use of disposable plastic and other packaging
