By bicycle to a huge dumpsite of new and used clothes in Chile
• WHAT will be done
Description:
During the EWWR, ARS Ambiente will organize a webinar with some stakeholders involved in sustainability of textiles, launching the idea of Michele Giavini, founder of ARS Ambiente, to go to Chile by bicycle, in the desert of Atacama, to see one of the biggest dumpsites in the world where 70.000 tonnes/year of new and used clothes are thrown, because of the increasing effect of the “fast fashion” worldwide which doesn’t promote neither reusability nor recyclability or long term usage of textiles.

- The trip will take place in April 2023 and will be followed by some sensitization action showing the media footage that Michele will do.
- The date, time and language (Italian, English or Spanish) of the webinar is still to be decided.
