In this event, the biomass as a resource project will be presented. The objective of this action is to discover possible agents that can add value to this project of using biomass as a product.
The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center of Túria (CEI Túria), a non-profit public entity that depends on the Vilamarxant city council.
The CEI Túria is the nerve centre for the presentation of a project that seeks to minimize forest residues generated by farmers and pruning and in turn generate renewable energy through biomass. Within the strategy of the municipality whose industrial estate is positioned as one of the only entities within the entities focused on waste management as energy.
Through CEI Túria, it was the only municipality that participated in Waste2Energy: Startup Europe Awards of the DG CONNECT of the European Commission held on July 2, 2020, where the idea of managing the municipality’s pruning waste arose, both from individuals and from the public entity itself, biomass belonging to the pruning carried out in the two natural areas that surround the municipality and pruning residues from individuals who grow citrus fruits in the mediations of their municipality.
The municipality of Vilamarxant, through its innovation councillor, Don Javier Jorge, was represented at one of the round tables on circular economy at COP 25 in December 2019.
It is focused on attracting European funds for the benefit of creating jobs and attracting talent around sectors focused on the green economy, circular economy, use of waste, rural entrepreneurship and innovation in rural municipalities. In this way, we see how a small municipality is committed to the fight against climate change, fire prevention and in turn to generate green employment.
