WHAT will be done

Description:

Trash Cooking Contest Outline:

  1. Previous work in the classrooms: Brief explanation of the “Trash Cooking” concept in class, encouraging students to participate to use food scraps or leftover ingredients creatively to minimize waste and promote sustainability.
  2. 4,.Contest Rules:

    Participants (students) must create a recipe, in the target language they are learning, using only leftover ingredients or food that might otherwise be thrown away. Emphasis will be placed on creativity, sustainability and clear presentation of the recipe

    3. Contest Structure:

    • Open to all language learners in the institution.
    • Participants will anonymously present their recipes (explaining ingredients and preparation process in the target language) with a photo of the dish. These recipes will be placed along the corridors for students and teachers of the target language to  vote.
    • Dishes are judged based on sustainability, creativity, presentation, and language use. 

       

    4. Prizes:

    • Awards for categories like “Most Creative Dish,” “Best Presentation,” and “Best Use of Scraps.”
    • Prizes can include language-learning resources, certificates, or eco-friendly products.
  3. Final Step – Recipe Compilation:
    • All student-created recipes are compiled into a digital or printed cookbook, serving as a resource for sustainable cooking and language practice.
    • The cookbook is shared with participants and the wider school community.
