PlanIt

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

Our action entails a life skills programme called ‘Planit’, which was delivered during the month of September. This programme was aimed at young people between the ages of 13 and 16 years old. It focused on safeguarding the planet through actions and hands-on activities, which can be done both as individuals and/or collectively.

The aim of the programme was to promote sustainable living practices such as, using what we have available and raising awareness regarding environmental issues such as, fast fashion, food waste and pollution. Moreover, we underscored the importance of taking care of the planet’s natural resources, such as water, air and soil. This was done through activities such as, gardening, water use reduction and mindfulness breathing exercises in nature.

This was a four-day jam-packed programme also included outdoor activities, such as stargazing and sunset yoga. The programme encouraged youth workers and young people to appreciate the beauty of our planet and connect with nature. In return, this fostered a sense of environmental stewardship.

Throughout the programme we recorded and documented the whole process. During the European Week for Waste Reduction, we will be posting on our social media, the hands-on activities we delivered to further raise awareness on the importance of taking action, reusing what we have and taking small steps to reduce food waste.
