The MRU rangers are meeting a large amount of people in the countryside who sometimes don’t behave as per the Green Code of Conduct or Maltese laws. We see a large amount of people not separating their waste, food waste specifically, and also large amount of littering both during their stay and left behind litter afterwards.

We aim to carry out 3 actions during the EWWR.

1) Engage with people on site and discuss the topic about separation of waste and food waste in particular when out in nature.

2) An online campaign run daily to highlight how we treat our homes as nature differently.

3) We end the EWWR with a cleanup at one of the sites that we are trying to restore – Qalet Marku, Naxxar.
