You are kindly invited to participate in the prize-awarding awareness competition, which will be held as part of EWWR – the European Week for Waste Reduction 2024 (The European Week for Waste Reduction; https://ewwr.eu/project/).
At Tehno Park Celje and Simbio Celje, we recognize the importance of raising community awareness about their relationship with food and the environmental, economic, and social impacts of discarded food waste. Food waste has direct consequences in terms of greenhouse gas emissions.
“Globally, one-third of all food produced for human consumption is wasted. The vast majority of food waste occurs in households (more than half of produced food waste), in the hospitality sector (restaurants, catering), and in retail (supermarkets, stores). Food waste refers to all food (including beverages) and associated inedible parts that are removed from the food supply chain for humans in the following sectors: food production, retail food/grocery, hospitality, and households.”
