A morning on food waste reduction and social inclusion

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

ACR+ staff will join the local association KOM à la maison for a morning all focused on food waste reduction and social inclusion. KOM à la maison is the first participatory and solidarity restaurant in Belgium. They focus their activities on sustainable food and have established partnerships with local markets to collect unsold food, so perfectly in line with the EWWR topic of this year! The initiative goes beyond cooking as it’s a place where people can meet and interact, and it supports people in need offering meals at a free price based on everyone’s possibilities.

ACR+ staff will be joining other people who often offer their time to cook healthy and sustainable dishes at the restaurant. The activity will be an opportunity to practically see how to avoid food waste while cooking and how to plan delicious dishes with unsold food gathered at the market.

KOM à la maison is a well-known and well-established local association that has been supported and rewarded by the Brussels Region with the label of GOOD FOOD: https://www.komalamaison.be/
