The Municipality of Aradippou is a pioneering and innovative Municipality in Cyprus. Specifically for this year’s theme, the Municipality has started as the first to sort organic waste at the source.

Our action consists of a cooking class for children aged 8-12 years old in groups. The children will be invited to cook under the guidance of the author of “Carolina eats the seasons”, Penelope Vasquez Hatzilyra according to the seasonal vegetables and fruits, they will then have to clean the kitchen and separate the food waste from the packaging and carry out the procedure for the collection of organics.

Our goal is to include this action in the whole of the first semester of 2025, as a driver of training and creation of good practices in the households.

Part of the organics will be composted while another will go to a special collection area. The children will have the opportunity to see how composting works and with a video what happens when the collection is done.
