Training course on waste reduction: Porto 2010
The European Training Course on Waste Reduction set up for Organisers and Project Developers took place on 17–18 June 2010 in Porto (Portugal). It has been hosted by LIPOR, the Intermunicipal Waste Management Service of Greater Porto and Life+ project partner for the European Week for Waste Reduction.
Conceived as an official tool for the EWWR implementation, this training course aimed at giving a framework for reflection on EWWR development and promotion schemes. It also tackled European waste reduction policies and national and local waste reduction strategies.
Numerous presentations have been given before an audience of more than 150 people during the first of this 2-days event. On June 18, about 40 representatives of Organisers participated in the debates (the second day was intended to Organisers only).
This European Training Course on Waste Reduction was a very successful initiative that gathered many EWWR stakeholders from all over Europe!
It notably succeeded in presenting good practices developed by the Organisers and Project Developers from last EWWR edition and providing newcomers with useful tools for their first participation.
