Case studies and good practices for waste reduction

Find out what has been done in Europe

Previous participants to the EWWR implemented good practices that can be followed by other Project developers. The following case studies are examples of awareness raising actions in the field of waste prevention implemented in the various areas involved in the EWWR. They can be of significant help for Project developers who are looking for examples of what works.

The EWWR guide of good practices

The EWWR guide of good practices compiles the best actions implemented during the three editions of the European Week for Waste Reduction. More than 14000 actions were implemented along the 3 years of the LIFE+ project, from which 45 have been chosen, on the basis of the finalists designated by the EWWR jury each year. Their methodology and resources have been exhaustively described in order to allow other stakeholders to reproduce them in their territory. The actions are classified in 4 categories:

  • Fight against garden and kitchen waste
  • General campaign on waste reduction and Sustainable prevention/consumption
  • Paper and Packaging
  • Reuse and preparing for reuse
